- Assess weight of load by specified methods to ensure compliance with equipment load plate specifications
- Use the appropriate process, equipment and attachments to shift loads
- Observe all regulatory requirements regarding shifting loads
- Smoothly and consistently move controls and vehicle or equipment within safe operating practices and limits
- Use standard communication signals to coordinate safe movement of load
- Stack loads ensuring the stability of the stack without creating a hazard to personnel and equipment
- Perform emergency evasive action should the need arise
- Close down plant and equipment
- Rectify routine problems
